Resources for all
- University Health Services provides a list of Breastfeeding Support resources, including a map of lactation rooms.
- The University’s Early Childhood Education Program (ECEP) is a year-round program that provides early childhood services to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers not yet eligible for Pre-K or Kindergarten. Children of UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff have first priority in enrollment.
- The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) can assist with reasonable modifications for students and employees who are pregnant or experiencing pregnancy-related medical conditions.
Resources for all students
- University Health Services (UHS) provides a variety of services related to pregnancy and can help students navigate their options. For emotional and resource support around pregnancy, please contact the Social Services unit within UHS by calling (510) 642-6074.
- The Student Parent Centeris a centralized multi-purpose campus resource committed to the holistic support and success of undergraduate and graduate students who are engaged scholars, as well as devoted parents, at UC Berkeley.
- Back-Up Child Care is highly-subsidized in-home and center-based back-up child care for UC Berkeley student parents
Graduate/professional student-specific resources
- The Graduate Division website provides resources for student parents and caregivers, including information on financial support resources and backup child care. Their Graduate Student Resources Guide provides information and resources for graduate student parents.
University Village Albany (UVA) resources
- The UVA Residential Programs and Resources webpage has information about children's programs, teens programs, and family programs.
Resources for all employees, including postdocs (academic and non-academic)
- University Health Services provides family life resources on their work/life website for faculty and staff, including information about family-friendly benefits and policies; resources for pregnant, postpartum, and expectant parents; information about adoption, fostering, and guardianship; childcare and summer camp resources; parenting resources, and more. This includes support groups, campus family-friendly spaces, and more work/life offerings.
Faculty resources
- The Office for Faculty Equity and Welfare provides information and assistance for Senate Faculty about family-responsive policies, dependent care resources, partner and spouse employment, health and wellness programs, and back-up childcare.
