Experiencing or witnessing discrimination or harassment can be very difficult and distressing. Please know there are resources and reporting options available to you. The following resources are available to anyone who needs them, including staff, faculty, and other academic appointees, postdocs, and students.

Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD)

To file a complaint of discrimination or harassment to UC Berkeley, please contact the OPHD in any of the following ways:

If you are not sure if behavior you believe is discriminatory or harassing is based on any of these protected categories, you are still encouraged to contact OPHD to discuss options and resources.

Reporting to the U.S. Department of Education

In addition, anyone can file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR). The Department of Education has information online about how to file a discrimination complaint, including a web-based electronic complaint form.
